UPDATE 1-U.S. crude oil stockpiles plunge 12 mln barrels -API

Sept 7 (Reuters) - U.S. crude stocks surprisingly plunged

more than 12 million barrels last week, data from industry group

the American Petroleum Institute showed on Wednesday, boosting

the price of oil.
